Chess Nuts offers chess and science classes every Tuesday for K-5 students (1:35-2:35 pm).​ The Fall session starts on September 9 and runs until October 13.

Class description:

​

Each child receives a magnetic chess set, weekly chess lessons, and a chess medal for participating. We teach new advanced lessons each week for the advanced group, as well as more basic, readily understandable lessons for the beginner group. During the 6-week session of afterschool chess, each child shall receive weekly chess lessons and a chess medal for participating. The title of this session is "Unusual Checkmates." In it, we will study and learn from games in which chessmasters surprised their opponents with amazing endgames. 

 

During the science portion of the class, students will undertake science projects and have the opportunity to earn a science medal as well.
